*** PLEASE NOTE, THIS SHOW IS NOW SOLD OUT ***
Globetrotting Australian producer and performer Hugo Race (Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, 1983-85), together with Italian multi-instrumentalist and abstract painter Michelangelo Russo (creative partners from the legendary band Hugo Race & True Spirit), released their globally acclaimed album “John Lee Hooker’s World Today” in November 2017, an electronically treated collection of songs by the godfather of the blues, (including Hooker’s version of the MC5’s Motor City’s Burning!).
Race first approached the work of Hooker on his 1990 album Earls World. In the following years, Race has released a series of albums merging rock, folk, psych and electronica. Race and Russo continue to collaborate extensively. For this special show, Race & Russo will be playing a selection of their adapted John Lee-Hooker music as well as songs from Hugo Race & The True Spirit amongst many others. Take a listen below:

In April 2019, Race’s album as Hugo Race Fatalists (with Italian soundtrack maestros Sacri Cuori), entitled “Taken By The Dream”, dropped on Glitterhouse Records (Germany)/MGM (Australia). Below is a sample of that album:
