Alyce Platt (Album Launch)

*** PREMIUM SEATING SOLD OUT ***

*** GENERAL ADMISSION (MOSTLY SEATED) TICKETS AVAILABLE ***

In 2020 when the world went into lockdown, Alyce Platt set herself a challenge to learn and record a song a day on her iPhone in the echoes of her bathroom and then posted them on social media. Two years later she received a grant from Creative Victoria to develop the original recordings into an album with some of Melbourne’s finest musicians.

Without planning to, Alyce began work on what has now become her third album- Bain Douche - a low-fi, quirky, intimate collection of re-imagined gems connecting in a strange way to what we were all going through.

“A highly inventive and intriguing reimagining of classic songs”

Stuart Coupe – Rock author, journalist, publicist

Alyce Platt is Melbourne born singer-songwriter, guitarist, actor. She presents her original music and artistic pursuits through the lens of the Indie-pop artist she is so highly regarded as by her peers and critics alike.

“Alyce’s songs are special..thoroughly bewitched by the wonderful music and the door it opened into a very cool and groovy world”

Steve Kilbey- The Church

Catapulted from the suburban jungle of the 80s into a ubiquitous television career, Alyce highlights stories and observations from growing up in the suburbs to living in St. Kilda with super-hero’s, cowboys in the attic and the KGB.

Her indie-pop songs have a depth and melancholy that can suddenly turn around and become oblique, uplifting tunes coated in a blanket of haunting melodies and dreamy soundscapes wrapped around poignant and quirky lyrics with nostalgic themes and ghostly whispers of unrequited love, Blurring the lines of reality and make believe , Alyce stumbles through obstacles of self-doubt and paranoia not afraid to confront the darker side of life.

Going beyond stereotypical beliefs and smashing the flaws of perception, Alyce brings to life, tales from her deep dark past drawing on her extensive life experiences and some of these might even be true!

Alyce has been rehearsing and performing her new material (soon to be recorded) with the same group of amazing musicians who played on her Funny Little World album.
