"…as if Van Morrison had come from a sharecroppers’ farm." - Paul Kerr, AMERICANA UK
Melbourne-abiding, Texas-born, NYC-forged Bret Mosley brings his signature rough-hewn rock’n’soul to George Lane for the first time—in support of his latest album release, Through the Fire.
A singular artist who blends Americana, blues, and soulful folk into a uniquely potent sound that is introspective, raw, and emotional, Mosley’s stirring vocals, intricate lap slide guitar work, and stomping groove deliver deeply personal and poetic songwriting that explores the complexities of love, longing, belonging and the crux of the human journey.
In July 2023, Mosley released his long-awaited album, Through the Fire. Seven years in the making, the 11-track album chronicles Mosley’s remarkable personal and musical evolution. Drawing inspiration from his harrowing first few years after immigrating from the US to Australia, Mosley’s lyrics resonate with authenticity, delving deep into themes of resilience, triumph, and the transformative power of love.

Praise for the new album:
“…there’s the rough hewn rock’n’soul of Bret Mosley…the songs seem autobiographical as he takes his leave of New York and lands down under…’Through The Fire’ is his redemptive tale…showcases Mosley’s ability to convey a great deal of soul within a song with its faint hints of Van Morrison and Bill Withers…the whole album is quite terrific.”
—Paul Kerr, AMERICANA UK
“…captures…catharsis in all its heartfelt authenticity, channelling the likes of Uncle Tupelo and Will Johnson in its earthy, often stark lyricism, and building towards…searing conviction.”
—Jon Doyle, VARIOUS SMALL FLAMES
“Sensational! …the entire record deserves your attention…a masterpiece…”
—Jeremy Bregman, MESMERIZED
