The inaugural “ROAR FEST Celebrating Women in Music” will take place across St Kilda on the 2025 Labour Day March long weekend, aligning with global celebrations of International Women’s Day.
Presented by rackeTT Collective, this dynamic new festival is designed to connect, celebrate and amplify the voices of and opportunities for women in the Victorian music industry; both established and emerging artists and workers, providing them a vibrant and collaborative platform to have their powerful voices heard.
Women On The Bay, is a huge night of live music, featuring a diverse lineup of emerging artists, who soundtrack the sounds of the bay. Join Kathleen Halloran, Charlie Needs Braces, Ruby Mae, Charlie Lane and Wild Gloriosa for a night of powerful music.
Charlie Needs Braces is the latest music project from Naarm musician, Charlie Woods, a proud GuriNgai woman. Having shared the stage with The Teskey Brothers, Casey Donovan, The Seven Ups and more, Charlie Needs Braces has been awarded first place in the City Of Port Phillip Upstart Awards, and has played the infamous St Kilda Fest stage, amongst many more Naarm favourite stages. The sounds are inspired by nature, and bring joy and warmth to every performance.
Ruby Mae, has been making waves with her heartfelt and fragile storytelling songs finding connection both on the stage and on playlist and radio across Naarm. Ruby’s influence of rock, country and indie is fused for a unique blend of new wave singer songwriter.
Charlie Lane, a proud disabled musician and advocate, revelling off the back of the success of her debut album I’m Ok Now But I Wasn’t. Her power pop sense and indie rock themes, mixed with heartfelt lyrics connects with audiences far and wide, providing power for the underdog and sharing of her first hand experiences both as a disabled and queer musician.
Wild Gloriosa,2024 Music Victoria Award winning, is the brainchild of Gloria Ragesh, Wild Gloriosa takes her name from Tamil Nadu’s state flower Gloriosa, or flame lily, Wild Gloriosa creates music that feels familiar yet unique, hypnotic yet forthright, prayerful yet seductive - a marriage of undertones that is sure to hold her audience on a journey beyond the here and now.With South Indian roots and a Singaporean upbringing, Wild Gloriosa’s journey spans diverse landscapes.
This rare collective of performers will bring you an unceasing set of faultless musicianship and unwavering vocal stylings, with a side serving of sisterhood.
