Melbourne-based and long-time musician in Melbourne’s music scene both north and south of the river, a special night for the launch of the solo vinyl ‘Melbourne Nocturne’ by tfjdeane. Special guests including fellow Superstitions band members for a special night at George Lane.

AKA Timothy FJ Deane, tfjdeane is a Melbourne-based and long-time musician. A guitar and keyboard player in Melbourne’s music scene both north and south of the river, in bands such as Ron Peno & The Superstitions, James McCann’s New Vindictives, Charlie Marshall’s Curious Minds, Kim Volkman’s Whiskey Priests, and heaps of others over the years including with Jane Clifton, Linda and Bean Johnson’s Bulls, Rhyece O’neill, and has toured in Europe many times on the back of all that wonderful Melbourne music that the French and Spanish know and love so well.

Time now for some solo tfjdeane piano songs with a bunch of narrative-driven, wry, Melbourne-soaked tunes that recall another time.

Guests include Sore Eyes, Cam Butler, and rounding out the night with tfjdeane solo then joined on stage by fellow Superstitions Cam Butler, Mark Dawson, and Andy Papadopoulos, alongside legendary horn players saxophonist Matthew Habben and trombone player Adam Hutterer, and also fellow keyboard player of excellence, Simon Leverett. A big band of fun and friendship and music to end the night and celebrate with some further tfjdeane originals. And, perhaps, a doffing of the cap to a friend no longer with us, but with us in music. Who knows?
