Steve Lucas & The SLXpress (EP Launch)

*** PREMIUM FRONT ROW SEATING SOLD OUT ***

*** PREMIUM SECOND ROW SEATING & GENERAL ADMISSION TICKETS REMAIN ***

Let Your Hair Hang Down at George Lane when Steve Lucas launches his latest E.P. featuring the SLXpress.

Lucas will be presenting his fusion of Country soul, classic Blues, R&B, with overtones of jazz and Dixie. The E.P. will be a follow up to his last L.P. Cross That Line.

"What I'm doing now is an extension of that album, an evolution. With the previous release i wanted it as untreated as possible... like the band was in the room with you, playing live. This time I've stepped it up. The songs come from the same place, but i have stepped up the production. I enlisted a producer, Myles Mumford so I could step back from it all, let go of the reigns..."

Lucas will be fronting an 8-piece band. On board will be his favourite rhythm section comprising of Peter Mavric (double bass) and Peter Robertson (drums). Bruce Haymes (keys), will complete the core of the band.

Special guests include Ed Bates (pedal steel), Dave Hogan (blues harp), Christian Foyle (sax) and Joey Bedlam (vocals). The horn section will be made up with Travis Woods (trumpet), Jon Hunt (sax and clarinet) and Nick Piestch (trombone).

"Doing the thing you love, what can be better? To be yourself is to accept yourself. It is what be truly free is all about. I find myself in this music the same way as I found this music in me. It is very liberating and a lot of fun, too".
