Paulo Almeida, front man for Dili Allstars, Sol Nation and Mystic Trio has embarked  on a solo project and is releasing his third single, ‘Stay A While’. Staying true to his island roots, this new track sets a scene for lover’s reggae, vibing with lyrics sung in both English and Tetum (Timor Leste), Paulo’s native language. The song speaks to spending time with the people you love, creating lasting memories and forging deep connections, opening to the mystery of life, love and the other side.

For over 20 years, Paulo Almeida has been making music, collaborating and touring across the globe as the front-man for the Dili Allstars and Sol Nation. Having played alongside some of the world’s best musicians, he is finally embarking on the launch of his solo project.  

Having released Three singles from a forthcoming release, Paulo’s sound captures the spirit of his ancestral lines in Timor Leste and Portugal. The unmistakable island vibes, cool reggae accompanying positive and uplifting lyrics speak to the kind of optimism Paulo brings not only to his music, but is a reflection of his attitude to life. Paulo has been a life-long activist and advocate for a Free Timor Leste (and West Papua) and worked with First Nations artists across Australia. Alongside this, he has also been a key figure in bringing Timorese music, dance and culture to the fore in Australia, having toured several Timorese artists and mentored the next generation of Timorese musicians to preserve their culture for future generations.
