Dark, visceral and drenched in an otherworldly psychedelia only the most affecting art could muster, this is A Chance to Fail: the handwerk of Brett Poliness and Katie Scott.

Estonia - Brett Poliness and Katie Scott
Riposto
Taking a seat at the piano for new album, A Chance to Fail, Brett Poliness rallies an aesthetic that is equal parts cinematic, spellbinding and nightmarish, inspired by Polish jazz legend and film composer, Krystof Komeda. The seering voice of chief collaborator, Katie Scott (Howl at the Moon, Pony Face) pierces a percussive and cooly orchestrated sonic palette while Poliness’ generative work as a drummer/composer rushes to the fore.
Support for the night is Lisa Wood with special guest John Phillips: Blues Mutations. Lisa Wood performs her selection of songs featuring hand picked classics augmented by some of her original compositions. Lisa takes songs out of their original context and reimagining them into her signature Blues Mutation style. In her recent performances, Lisa has been joined by composer John Phillips, whose collaboration has added an extra of depth to the music. Together, they offer a sensitive yet powerful reinterpretation of classic songs, creating a connection with audiences through unexpected and compelling presentations.
